Dojo - the browser toolkit

Dojo is an Open Source effort to create a UI toolkit that allows a larger number of web application authors to easily use the rich capabilities of modern browsers.

There is an article baking usability into XMLHTTP and an example of Fast Widget Authoring With Dojo where you can see an example of the slide-show widget with explanation.

Dojo is currently in heavy development. As you can glean from the list of modules in the roadmap, we have finished a significant portion of the core "plumbing" for the project, and we also have our first widget, a button, that can be constructed from markup in HTML and SVG namespaces. We have also shipped an initial profile build, and a supporting article, baking usability into XMLHTTP.

I think its a good project as you can see in the roadmap. I'll be interested to see more of Dojo.
