AJAX PHP is the most requested AJAX couple
After about 6 month of running this AJAX Blog I was wondering which couple is the most requested on the net. Not because this website is mainly about PHP related technologies because I was trying to cover all usage of AJAX with Ruby,python,.NET, J2EE ... but AJAX PHP was the most requested couple overall ! surprising !
- First of all there is more AJAX implementation with PHP
- PHP is still the scripting language the more easy to use and learn
- AJAX is also new, and it's more easy to learn with PHP compared to other languages
- Enduser don't worry about the language used, but about what the service is offering.
And I think there is more other reasons that makes AJAX more popular with PHP. Overture for example show that AJAX PHP is requested 33.5 /day, AJAX Ruby came in the second place with 24.0 /day. AJAX and Java came in third place with 5.5/day and finally .net ajax with just 4.9/day. I tryed other similar services used by SEO professionals but I didn't find there any other information.
Many professionals still think that PHP isn't enough mature to develop commercial application, while it is the more popular and enough mature thanks to many efforts in the PHP community by companies such Zend. We can just list the latest alliance between Zend, Oracle and IBM, many others also make PHP their choice and strategy for development.
Until today I didn't see commercial solution of AJAX with PHP, maybe we'll see that soon. But the most important isn't the commercial and the free, the current implementation show already a maturity in the development of professional AJAX application easily.
AJAX have been also included in many frameworks as a part of their core code. We have talked recently about symfony, the open-source PHP5 AJAX web framework, and we have seen the capabilities of this framework to develop nice AJAX applications.
Maybe there is not yet a big focus on AJAX development tools and IDEs in general, the only tool until today is developed by morfik. Maybe more tools will give more chance to AJAX to be more friendly for developers. Cause until today, regardless the programming language used, AJAX application development still not the easy task.
