IntuiCat, the online AJAX Catalogue
IntuiCat is an online AJAX catalogue, with a multi-criteria search engine to deliver companies a truly intercative on-line catalogue solution. The web based catalogue have been developped with a very similar interface to the desktop version, to make bring complex B2B catalogue online with great features and more ease to use them.
With IntuiCat, on-line catalogues shortcomings can be forgotten: searches without answers, pages changing continuously, complex interface, functionalities spread on several menus, pages, etc.
Thanks to Thierry Nivelet who pointed me to IntuiCat, something interesting is that you can see in the bottom of the Ajax Catalog Search Engine a table indicating, per-request and average response time for :
- server (1 million record database)
- internet
- client javascript
According to the website IntuiCat allows searching up to 5 times faster than traditional on-line catalogues, and which is easy to understand because you go directly to the data and the intuitive interface help also to find the information faster :
* IntuiCat server adresses the database directly, without interface such as ADO, ODBC, JDBC, etc. Searches against millions of records take several cents of a second.
* Instead of the whole page, IntuiCat returns the sole changes in the page: the average amount of data transferred over the wire is divided by 10.
* In a more stable workspace, user waists less time interpretring data, can issue his choices and get answers more rapidly.
IntuiCat is a commercial product developped by Abaque, a french Incorporation specialized in the management of large catalogues.
