AJAXOS, the AJAX-aware desktop
Michael Robertson is making the Buzz recently with almost a weekly announcement of a new service beginning with AJAXwrite, ajaxSketchm eyespot, ajaxXLS, ajaxTunes, and now ajaxOS. AJAXOS support automatic launch of AJAX software when clicking on a supported filetype, with the possibility to save files to virtual storage and navigate through a file browser to the files uploaded to virtual storage as well those on your local computer.

Most of the software presented are XUL-based and certainly will require Firefox 1.5 and above to work properly. I think this is great for the Firefox community, since it's taking a part more and more larger of the browsers market, but it's also a limitation to support XUL only browsers, while AJAX is trying to be cross browsers without any additional plugins. Microsoft's Internet Explorer still holds a commanding lead with about 85% of the market shares, so will all these users adopt Firefox, or wait for Microsoft to adopt XUL ? Which is faster ?
