Yahoo! Chat Adopting AJAX Against Java ? - Updated
Yahoo! Chat have a new notice announcing an upcoming new version that will replace their Java-based chat software. I noticed that message are different for IE and firefox, announcing for FF that "you will still be able to access chat rooms using Yahoo! Messenger with Voice." While for IE users "you will still be able to access chat rooms with Chat 2.0 software, but for best results we recommend using Yahoo! Messenger with Voice ".

We saw already many AJAX Chat applications started from scratch, Yahoo! have already their chat using Java-based client this is interesting to notice the move to a plugin-free edition of their chat especially that YChat will keep supporting voice chat rooms. Anyway the new version will be online in few days according to Yahoo! so we'll see how it will be changed, and what the new Yahoo Chat 2.0 will look like.
Update : Yahoo have simply dropped the Java-Based chat software and suggesting to get Yahoo! Messenger. There is no java-based chat solution anymore at least for Firefox users, the page didn't change yet for IE users.
