Script# vs Google GWT, May the Best Ajax Tool Win

Microsoft Watch has an article comparing Script# to Google GWT. After that Nikhil Kothari, an architect on Microsoft's Web platform and tools team, posted for download in late May, a first prototype of Script#, his home-grown C# framework and tool for Ajax development. While GWT aims to generate Javascript based on Java, Script# is using C# compiler for the same purpose.

"Essentially the Script# compiler is a C# compiler that generates Javascript instead of IL (Intermediate Language). A key driving goal of the design is to produce readable Javascript that you may have authored yourself, and would be ok deploying into real apps," explained Kothari.

Script# is a personal project that Kothari is developping in his spare time, so I don't know how to compare it with GWT, the project maintained by Google and are already using to develop their AJAX solutions.

The question now is... Will Microsoft bring Script# in-house and make it a Microsoft product? I don't know, but I’m sure the answer will interest Morfik.
