Yahoo To Integrates Messenger With Webmail

After releasing their AJAX Webmail for public, Yahoo! said that it plans to integrate a Web-based version of its messenger into the next beta of its Yahoo Webmail. The new version is expected to be available in early 2007 according to many sources. Yahoo! which is leading the webmail services with 250 million active users monthly is trying to keep the leadership in webmail service, while Gmail have already offered this feature since February 2006.

The first demo of this new service have been showed at the Web 2.0 conference in San Fransisco, Brad Garlinghouse, Senior Vice President of Communications, Communities, and Front Doors at Yahoo!, showed how the new Messenger integration works if a user is online you can click and start a conversation directly from the webmail. The big news in my opinion is that Yahoo! is studying the integration of calling features in their new web-based messenger, a great feature I think if it will be available.
