Gaia Ajax Widgets Goes Open Source

Today Frost Innovation, the company behind Gaia Ajax Widgets, released their Gaia Ajax library under GPL license. Gaia is the Ajax library for ASP.NET that focuses on server-side event logic rather than writing JavaScript. Now it's possible to develop free software with Gaia under the GPL license, commercial usage still need to pay fees for commercial licenses.

Gaia Ajax Widgets is gaining in popularity lately with around 1000 registered users by April 23rd, for a project that was live since February 5th only. Frost innovation joined today the Dual License world; a model adopted by many companies such MySQL, Trolltech, eZ Publish (The last ones are also from Norway). The next big thing for Gaia will be "GLAM Stack" (Gaia Linux Apache Mono...) which will introduce Mono support and of course become cross-platform.
