New Visual WebGui application: iNferno by NetworkD
iNferno is a fantastic new Visual WebGui based solution developed by NetworkD which brings HEAT desktop service and support functionality to the web, delivering all of HEAT’s desktop capabilities and more over the web using AJAX.
Visual WebGui made it possible for NetworkD to create the iNferno web-based interface in a very short period of time by making it possible for developers to use WinForms development methodologies (originally created for developing desktop applications) to create a web-application. The short Visual WebGui learning curve provided NetworkD a very intuitive way to reproduce the HEAT desktop application on the web. The end result is an innovative and exciting interface which provides iNferno users with real productivity benefits, as can be seen by following the link to the videos below.
Instead of using awkward techniques, like Terminal Services, to access the computers remotely, utilizing Visual WebGui makes it possible to access iNferno from any system running a supported web-browser. Visual WebGui enables iNferno users to create the original HEAT forms designed with a HEAT Administrator editor, eliminating the need to design specific new forms for the Web and for end users to learn a new UI.
NetworkD utilized Visual WebGui to equip iNferno with capabilities that make HEAT very flexible and powerful. Some cool capabilities are :
• Color coding work lists for greater control and visibility
• Supporting launching external modules
• Rendering the real desktop HEAT screens, including formatting and graphics in a plain HTML light-weight view.
For those not familiar with Visual WebGui, Visual WebGui is an AJAX based web development framework that enables rapid development of desktop-like web applications while taking advantage of developers’ WinForms development expertise.
